My first foray into the internet world and a web presence was probably in March 2011 when I got my two blogs (Rod the Blog and To Do In Doha) up and running. However, having enjoyed the thrill of increasing traffic without doing too much apart from posting regular posts, I wanted to know more.

I was thinking of starting a website business and I wanted to set up my own website and make some money on line but I had no idea how to start?

Then I discovered this great guy called Chris Farrell who taught me how to get a website up and running AND how to drive traffic to it.

Chris Farrell is an ex-disc jockey from London in England who now lives in Los Angeles. He takes you step by step through how to get a domain name, how to use a web editor, how to upload your web pages and generally how to technically get to grips with setting up a website. He does this by short simple and very friendly videos. He makes sure that you know what is going on each step, it is slow but sure. Just what you want when you first start.

I consider that Chris’s videos are in two parts and having gained some mastery over the first part of setting up a website, you are then into the second set of videos on how to market yourself on the Internet. This I found compelling and stayed up too late many times to devour the information. About search engines, Facebook, article marketing, auto responders etc.

Chris made it so easy with his videos, his relaxed style, his family (I particularly got to like Mr Stevens!), the support of his website team. I learned very quickly. In fact, it was very quick, my progress was this:

07 November 2011 started watching the first video (On how to get a domain name)

01 February 2012 launched this website and my Facebook Fan Page (Working Wow with Ian Rodwell)

By my counting that is 87 Days or a little over 12 weeks (frankly I could have launched earlier).

My rapid progress from nothing to something was in no small part due to Chris Farrell, and I would thoroughly recommend that you check out his websites and be amazed too:
